Dermaroller

The Dermaroller is a cylindrical shaped drum studded with very fine needles. It is a medical device used in micro needling to break down old scar tissue & to stimulate skin cells to proliferate. This cell multiplication results in the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibres (neo-collagenesis) as well as in new capillaries for an improved blood supply (neo-angiogenesis). The procedures are called Scar Reduction Therapy (SRT) & Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).

What effects does the Dermaroller have on the skin?

The Dermaroller improves the thickness of the dermis as well as the epidermis. This in return improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles. It also has a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation as well as on hypo-pigmentation. Reduces disfiguring scars & acne scars, stimulates new collagen fibres, improves blood supply and harmonizes pigmentation.

How is the Dermaroller procedure performed & does it hurt?

The skin is cleaned and afterwards numbed with an appropriate numbing cream so it should not hurt at all. Skin is thoroughly needled in such a way, that each skin part is needled about 15 to 20 times. An even flushing is the best indication for a perfect medical performance.

What is the down time after a Dermaroller treatment?

The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last for 12 to 24 hours on average. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend healing minerals, peptides or hyaluronic acid after the procedure, and to protect the skin with zinc based sun screen. We also recommend the use of mineral makeup to help with the healing.

What should I avoid on my skin?

To ensure the right healing environment, for 2-3 days DO NOT use AHA’s (Glycolic Acid), Retinol, acidic or “active” ingredients

PRP-Skin-Transportation

It is a unique treatment using skin transportation, delivering autologous PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) into the balding scalp.

It works by utilizing growth factors released by blood cells called platelets. These are tiny cells usually involved in blood clotting. They increase the formation of new hair by stimulating the hair stem cells as well as by providing better blood supply and anchorage to the hair roots.

About 10-15 ml of blood is taken from the person to be treated and this is then spun to separate the red and white parts of the blood. The white part contains the platelets and this is then harvested using a long needle and activated with calcium chloride to generate the PRP. It is then transferred to smaller syringes and injected superficially into the scalp at about half inch intervals. The procedure is done under cream based anaesthesia and has minimal to no discomfort.

PRP contains essential proteins that helps in reducing hair fall, nourish damaged hair. The protein activates the growth factors needed to stimulate hair growth and increases blood supply and nutrition to the scalp, hence decreasing hair fall and stimulating new hair.

PRP is also being used in conjunction with some hair transplant procedures. The results are normally seen within 3 – 6 months and may require 4 – 6 sessions. Since it comes from patient’s own blood, it has no side effects and gives wonderful results for all types of hair falls like telogen effluvium, androgenetic alopecia, female pattern hair loss.

Hair-Skin-Mesoporation

Hair Transport Mesoporation

Mesoporation is a novel and unique method developed exclusively for patients who are apprehensive of needles. It is a complex process that allows infusion of potent vitamins, micronutrients, amino acids and antioxidants to the tissue at depths equivalent to the mesotherapy injections to rejuvenate and revitalise the skin.

It is best used for Hair & skin treatment where active ingredients or Micro nutrients needs to be infused to scalp or skin layers.

Mesoporation involves using weak electrical currents to temporarily make the skin more porous, thereby allowing the active penetration of the ingredient. This procedure is pain free, and does not require any kind of anesthesia or numbing. A typical session takes about 30-40 minutes.

Mesotherapy involves injecting microscopic quantities of natural extracts, homeopathic agents, pharmaceuticals & vitamins into the mesoderm or middle layer of skin to deliver healing or corrective treatment to a specific area of the body.
It is done by either using dermaroller, ultrasound or by electroporation.

Mesotherapy Treatments Can Be Used For:

Pigmentation: For increased pigmentation like Melasma, blemishes, freckles and post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, this technique is used to deliver lightening agents, Some homoeopathic tinctures and Vitamin C, directly into the skin layers. Dramatic improvement can be seen in just 4 sessions.

Hair Loss: Mesotherapy can be used to aid hair restoration. A formulation of vitamins, DHT blockers and minerals, Homoeopathic Tinctures injected into the scalp stimulate the circulation of blood, thus replacing lost vitamins and minerals and allowing hair follicles to get rejuvenated.

Skin Rejuvenation: Mesotherapy is used to infuse lightening and anti-aging materials directly into the skin layers, aiding better product efficacy and quicker results with reduced downtime. It can also help reduce lines and wrinkles, improve sun-damaged skin; and works as an ideal glow treatment.

Wrinkles Reduction

Mesoporation is a novel and unique method developed exclusively for mesotherapy treatment. It is a complex process that allows infusion of potent vitamins, micronutrients, amino acids and antioxidants to the tissue at depths equivalent to the mesotherapy injections to rejuvenate and revitalise the skin.

How is the procedure done?

The skin is cleansed and the solution containing the essential nutrients is applied over the skin. Then with the help of the mesoporation device, channels known as mesopores are formed into the skin. These channels are used for water and non-water soluble substances to be delivered through the skin barrier and deep into the tissue. The delivery time required is about 20 to 30 minutes. The depth of penetration ranges from very superficial 2 to 3 mm up to a few centimeters.

Q: Are there any side effects?

A: It is a clinically tested, hygienic and safe form of treatment with no side effects reported till date.

Q: Can I go back to work after the treatment?

A: Yes. This office procedure takes less than 30 minutes per session and requires little preparation or recovery time.

Q: When will I see the results of mesoporation?

A: One can start seeing a glow after 5-7 days after the first session but full results are evident after 3-4 sessions.

Q: How long will the results last?

A: Results of the first session will last for upto a month but repeated sessions have cumulative effects and results last for longer duration.

Q: How many sessions will I require?

Skin-Polishing-Dermabrasion

Microdermabrasion (Skin Polishing) is a method for resurfacing super facial layers of skin using corrundum powder (crystals of aluminium). This technique uses a jet spray of crystals to remove and then vacuum the outer keratin layer of skin.

It is a painless and bloodless method of rubbing off the epidermis layers in order to achieve desired effects: smoothing and refreshing the colour, improving the colour and elasticity, reduction of stretch marks, scars and keloids. It is recommended for any skin type, regardless of the age and level of epidermis damage. Smoothes out, refreshes and regenerates the skin, improves its colour and elasticity, brightens up discolourations, shallows out wrinkles and narrows enlarged pores, reduces stretch marks and scars. Positive effects can be visible after only one treatment but it is recommended to undergo a series of treatments in order to improve the condition of the epidermis. The depth, amount and frequency of the treatments are dependent on the state of the skin.

Chemical-Peels

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, neck or hands. A chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. The new, regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. The new skin is also temporarily more sensitive to the sun.

Chemical peels are one of the most popular and versatile aesthetic medical office procedures. Many acids individually and in various combinations, are designed to penetrate various depths of your skin to achieve detanning, regain lost glow, clear complexion, treat acne, age related changes, skin lightening etc. Newer ones are launched constantly and are more patient friendly with less down time.
We also use peel as a preparatory step to various other procedures and is on our skin maintenance programs as well.

Chemical Peels Tackle
  •  Fine lines and wrinkles
  •  Uneven pigmentation
  •  Shallow acne scars
  •  Sun damaged scars
  •  Age spots
  •  Freckling
  •  Dull, tired and neglected skin

What should first be done before considering a chemical peel?

A thorough evaluation by a dermatological surgeon is imperative before embarking upon a chemical peel.

When is a chemical peel appropriate?

Chemical peels are used to treat a number of conditions including:
  • Skin Tightening
  • Acne scars
  • Crow’s feet
  • Scars
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Sagging skin
  • Wrinkles

What can I expect after having a chemical peel?

Chemical peels are used to treat a number of conditions including:
  • Superficial peels require one to seven days to heal. Treated skin will initially be red and may scale. Lotion or cream should be applied until the skin heals, followed by daily use of sunscreen. Makeup can usually be worn the next day.
  • Medium peels require seven to 14 days to heal. Treated skin will initially be red and swollen. Swelling worsens for the first 48 hours. Eyelids may swell shut. Blisters may form and break. Skin crusts and peels off in seven to 14 days. Skin must be soaked daily for a specified period, followed by ointment application. Antiviral medication is taken for 10 to 14 days. Mild lotion or cream may be applied. Avoid all sun exposure until healing is complete. Camouflage makeup may be worn after five to seven days. A follow-up appointment will be necessary to monitor progress.
  • Deep peels require 14 to 21 days to heal. The treated area will be bandaged. Skin must be soaked four to six times daily, followed by ointment application for the first 14 days. Afterwards a thick moisturizer is applied for the next 14 days. Antiviral medication is taken for 10 to 14 days. Mild lotion or cream may be applied. Avoid all sun exposure for three to six months. Camouflage makeup may be worn after 14 days. Several follow-up appointments will be necessary to monitor progress.

Sun exposure and smoking after a chemical peel must be avoided because they can cause unwanted side effects, including infection and scarring.
